Salterio italiano – Il Dolce Conforto

Il Dolce Conforto
  1. Florido Ubaldi: Sinfonia da Salterio col Basso -:-- / 4:45
  2. Fulgenzio Perotti: Sonata da Salterio -:-- / 5:07

On this CD, original Italian salterio music from northern to southern Italy was recorded for the first time using both playing techniques (pizzicato and battuto) in equal measure, moreover while played upon using the first faithful replicas of Italian salterio mallets worldwide. It includes salterio music from the Ospedale della Pietà (Venice), a cantata by Giovanni Battista Martini (Bologna), the Sinfonia for salterio by Florido Ubaldi (Rome), another cantata by Girolamo Rossi (Naples) and finally a Sonata for salterio by Vito Ugolino (Naples).

Few musicians do what Franziska Fleischanderl does. She plays, with beguiling expertise, the silvery-sounding salterio and is equally adept at both the plucking and hammer techniques used in 18th-century Italy… (The Sunday Times, 5th august 2018
