On this CD, original Italian salterio music from northern to southern Italy was recorded for the first time using an original instrument from 1725 and using both playing techniques (pizzicato and battuto) in equal measure, moreover while played upon using the first faithful replicas of Italian salterio mallets worldwide. “Salterio italiano” includes salterio music from the Ospedale della Pietà (Venice), a cantata by Giovanni Battista Martini (Bologna), the Sinfonia for salterio by Florido Ubaldi (Rome), another cantata by Girolamo Rossi (Naples) and finally a Sonata for salterio by Vito Ugolino (Naples).
